So as I have now managed to listen to my entire ipod music collection, it has dawned on me that I should have rated those songs which had that, “Bruce Springsteen: Secret Garden”, quality to them .
I also must confess that the Italian lessons, some podcasts and yes the Douglas Adams audio books did somehow get sidelined. My own sanity probably was spared by those decisions. The ipod journey did make me realise that there is some total rubbish in my music collection. However if it was good enough to get in there in the first place it should probably stay!
Some facts that I did realise is that some of my music which had been on tape in the bygone days has now vanished. ” Queen- live at Wembley 1988″ and “Jazzy Jeff – Boom Shake the Room”, fell folly to this. Also the multiple collective music which our uni houses all had and its only when you move away that you realise that the CD’s weren’t actually yours. At the time some of them appeared to be mine as they took up squatters rights in my room. I had just assumed that all this music would appear among the multitude.
Of the absentees was the above mentioned, “Springsteen- Secret Garden”. This absence justified a purchase of his greatest hits and I can safely say it is one that shouldn’t have slipped away from the collection.
Do I think that the journey was worthwhile, or a waste of time?
I could say safely that it was worthwhile, however at times it was definitely better to travel in hope!
So what next?
I reckon I should take up another challenge except this time it should involve being out of the house and not spending three months waiting to arrive at a classic!
